Antony Loebel, M.D.

Dr. Loebel, Sunovion's Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, joined the company in 2007. A board-certified psychiatrist whose background includes clinical practice, clinical research and program development, he heads medical affairs and clinical research initiatives for all currently commercialized and development stage products at Sunovion. Recently, Dr. Loebel led the global development of LATUDA^® (lurasidone HCl), ensuring its successful U.S. NDA regulatory filing and subsequent approval by the U.S. FDA.

Previously, Dr. Loebel worked at Pfizer as Senior Medical Director and Team Leader for the U.S. Geodon^® (ziprasidone) franchise. In this role, he was responsible for oversight of clinical strategy, lifecycle development, clinical trials, marketing support, publications programs and independent investigator research programs for this CNS therapy.

To date, Dr. Loebel has published more than 50 scientific peer-reviewed articles or book chapters in psychiatry, as well as approximately 300 abstracts or posters. Currently, he holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine.
