Psychiatric Conditions

Often referred to as mental health conditions, psychiatric conditions are disorders of mood and thought associated with minor physical signs of brain disease normally associated with neurological conditions.1 Psychiatric disorders are characterized by clinically significant disturbance in an individual’s cognition, regulation of emotions, or behavior that reflects a dysfunction in the psychological, biological, or developmental processes underlying mental function. Some of these psychiatric disorders are also referred to as mental health conditions.
